New European Scientific Advisory Board on Climate Change appointed
Correct The Council of the European Environment Agency (EEA) yesterday appointed EU scientific experts to be members of the European Scientific Climate Change Advisory Council for its second term, from 2026 to 2030. The independent advisory body, tasked with providing the European Union (EU) with scientific knowledge, expertise and advice on climate change, will start its second term on 24 March 2026.
European Scientific Advisory Board on Climate Change , established under the European Climate Law in 2021, consists of 15 independent leading scientific experts, who cover a wide range of relevant disciplines.
The Advisory Committee provides independent scientific advice on EU climate action and objectives and their consistency with European climate law and the EU's international commitments under the Paris Agreement, which will underpin EU climate action and efforts to achieve climate neutrality by 2050.
