To mitigate the worst impacts of climate change, we must consider implementing climate solutions outside the free economic market. The dangerous state of the global climate has reached a new low, according to an analysis by the World Meteorological Organization (WMO). This confirms a well-known fact: human activities continue to worsen the conditions that have changed our planet's climate. Most worryingly, "there is a 66 percent chance that the annual average global surface temperature between 2023 and 2027 will be more than 1.5 degrees Celsius above pre-industrial levels for at least one year" (⁰)
