Corporate Sustainability Due Diligence (“CS3D”) Directive adopted by the Council of the European Union

CS3D European Parliament and Council Directive (EU) 2024/1760 regarding respect for human rights and care for the environment within the own operations and value chains of large companies from the EU and beyond. EU member states have 2 years to incorporate CS3D into their national legislation, which will apply from 2027 and will apply to all large companies in the EU with more than 1,000 employees and a net turnover exceeding EUR 450 million. Insurance premiums will also apply to non-EU companies if they have a net turnover in the EU of more than EUR 450 million. Many other EU and non-EU companies not subject to CS3D will also be affected if they are part of the value chain of such companies. (L&E Global, more at lexology.com)
