5 things you should know about electric cars

In order to reduce emissions, the European Union passed a law last year that all New cars and vans sold in Europe had zero emissions from 2035. Already in 2023, battery electric vehicles (BEVs) were the most popular alternative to petrol and diesel cars, representing more than 14.6 % of all new cars sold in the EU. Plug-in hybrid electric cars accounted for another 7.7 %. So more than 1 in 5 new cars sold in Europe can now be charged electrically. (More on climate.ec.europa.eu)
