Within the European Union (EU), the European Green Deal is one of the fastest and most profoundly developed areas of EU law, the area related to corporate sustainability management. Most recently, in December 2023, the Directive on Due Diligence for Business Sustainability was provisionally approved at the political level (" CS3D ") European Parliament and Council Directive (EU) 2024/1760 and endorsed by COREPER in a revised version in March 2024. Under CS3D, companies will have to adopt and implement effective due diligence measures to identify, prevent, mitigate and end actual and potential harm to human rights and the environment in their own activities, the activities of subsidiaries and their business partners. in relation to their "chain of activities".
