Three reasons why climate change education is critical to adaptation and resilience

Adaptation does not take place in a vacuum. It needs specific knowledge and skills to be accessible to many. We can only use the energy and ideas of society through education, and adaptation works best if solutions are designed as close as possible to the place where the impacts are felt. We mean education at different stages of life, from school education to university and technical education, as well as through adult education and training in all its forms. Taking this broader view, universities, national think tanks, research bodies and local educational institutions are part of the broad mix of institutional actors needed to transform education systems. Here they are three reasons , why we think climate change education deserves a closer look.
