Climate change education is increasingly considered an essential part of education. Main international test progress of 15-year-olds (in which Australia participates) has just announced that the next round of testing will be include environmental knowledge along with English, math, and science literacy.  Australian national curriculum (updated last year under the Morrison government) makes almost no mention of climate change. But as a signatory to the Sustainable Development Goals UN and of the Paris Agreement We are committed to developing a climate change education policy. Regardless of what policies or curricula say, our climate is changing As scientists constantly remind us, urgent action is needed . In our new research We interviewed nine elementary and secondary school teachers about how they incorporate climate change into their lessons.  We found that teachers are becoming the bearers of bad news in the classroom when young people learn about the climate crisis and need better training and more support.
