What is our, your, attitude towards climate change? Are you more of a conservative, a curmudgeon, or a rebel? ? Each attitude corresponds to an aspect of the energy transition. Each of us tends to prioritize some of the effort that needs to be made to eventually move closer to carbon neutrality (no net carbon emissions in 2050). In absolute terms, these three dimensions must be inscribed simultaneously, in the same dynamic. This is why this period of the turning point is difficult, because everyone uses their own means to advance their point of view. The attitude can be rather passive towards the conservatives, reflecting the strength of power that is in place with the Cornucopians or even provoke violent reactions, sometimes bordering on democracy with the rebels. The rationale is then to consider that this is the only possible way to take their point of view into account. This breakdown also shows that everyone does not have the same time scale, the same scale of urgency with regard to climate change. In that case, we must not hesitate to avoid the scope of the problem. (Philippe Waechter)
