The first trade fair on "carbon neutrality".

More than 1,000 green technologies were showcased at the Shanghai International Carbon Neutrality Fair this week, according to 36 Carbon .  The event, the first of its kind in China, lasted four days and presented solutions to climate and environmental challenges. Theme zones at the venue included energy efficiency, conservation, circular economy, transport and services. More than 600 exhibitors included world brands such as Tesla, BASF and Schneider Electric; Chinese state-owned enterprises such as Baowu Steel, Sinopec and Shenergy; and Chinese private companies such as Midea, Envision and Cathay Bio. Tesla presented its Gigafactory Shanghai, about which he claims , that in 2022 it helped reduce greenhouse gas emissions per car produced globally by 30 % year-on-year thanks to greater use of renewable energy and greener production methods. She also performed Solar Roof , a system of electricity-generating panels that look a lot like roof tiles. Meanwhile, BASF presented its latest processing technology to produce hydrogen from natural gas. And L'Oréal unveiled a product labeling system that assesses environmental performance over the life cycle. As part of a plan to reduce metallurgy to net zero, Baowu Group has revealed that it is building the first hydrogen-based shaft furnace in China, which integrates hydrogen and coke oven gas and can produce one million tons of steel per year. The furnace, which is expected to be completed by January, will reduce greenhouse gas emissions by 500,000 tons a year compared to a traditional furnace of the same scale, the company said.

Wangsu Science & Technology demonstrated a cooling system that immerses data servers in liquid. It can replace the fan cooling system and reduce the energy consumption of IT equipment by 10 % to 20 %, the company said. The first fully submerged data center has already been built in Shanghai.

As the cost of these new technologies can hinder widespread adoption, the Shanghai fair aimed to help investors and companies discover promising projects and thereby attract capital to climate and environmental solutions. (AI)
