The first edition of the educational campaign "Generation Carbon, a guide to climate change", promoted by the newly created Generation Carbon Association in cooperation with Sorgenia for the 2023-24 school year, starting in primary schools throughout Italy. The campaign involves 25,000 pupils from a thousand primary school classes aged 7 to 10 throughout the country. The initiative, managed by the Neways agency, which specialises in educational projects, aims to spread culture and information in the field of environmental and civic education and to bring the issue of climate change closer to young people. The programme includes an explanation of the concepts of carbon and fossil fuels, the greenhouse effect and the impact on the climate. Given the topicality of the topic and in line with the sustainable development goals of the UN Agenda 2030, the project has been granted the patronage of Ministry of Environment and Energy Security. Key elements of the project include a digital learning kit, a detailed guide for teachers and students, teaching suggestions, participation certificates for students and a fun board game. The learning journey also includes a face-to-face training session in one of the participating schools, where trainers and experts will delve into the sensitive topic of climate change.
