Where are we on the global agenda for climate change adaptation? This question was asked by an international group of researchers from 20 institutions in 12 countries who have just published a large-scale meta-analysis in the journal Nature Climate Change. The researchers reviewed 1,472 scientific studies on human adaptation to climate change. The data came from the Global Adaptation Mapping Initiative (GAMI), a program that aims to collate and synthesize the literature on climate change adaptation. The data collected was analyzed by the types of actors behind adaptation measures: individuals and households, governments (local and national), international or supranational governance institutions, and private sector companies.
