Work will soon begin on a series of innovative climate services that use the unique space to provide information to businesses and other organizations about environmental risks and how to mitigate them. Ten new projects will use Earth observation instruments, satellite tracking and population demographics data, supported by artificial intelligence (AI), to create predictions and models that can be used by sectors ranging from agriculture and energy to finance and insurance. Funded by the British Space Agency, these applications will not only enable businesses, governments and others to understand and mitigate risks, but will also help identify opportunities for green finance that could support sustainable business growth.
