Achieving climate neutrality by 2050 is key to combating climate change, protecting the environment and ensuring a sustainable future for future generations. To ensure a solid path to this goal, The EU issued a call for evidence  to support the establishment of a transitional climate target by 2040. In response to this challenge, ForestPaths developed its first policy brief – "European climate targets: potentials and challenges of forests and the forestry sector ".
