Mechanism carbon border adjustments (CBAM) is a new regulation that creates incentives for manufacturers outside the EU to reduce emissions. It is an essential part of of the Fit for 55 package – a set of proposals to revise and update existing EU legislation to ensure that EU policies are in line with the EU's climate objectives (reducing net greenhouse gas emissions by at least 55% by 2030).
