Plastic pollution and global warming are linked in a vicious cycle

Global warming and plastic pollution, two critical environmental challenges, are now clearly intertwined, creating a vicious cycle in which one exacerbates the other.

Scientists from Sweden have published a comprehensive study in the journal Nature Communications that reveals a mutually reinforcing relationship between these problems. This cycle not only intensifies global warming and material degradation, but also increases plastic waste and the leakage of toxic chemicals into our environment.
