If we were to divide our atmosphere today into 1 million parts, 421 of them would consist of carbon dioxide. And while 421 parts per million (ppm) may not seem like a lot, it's the most we've seen in at least 3 million years. In addition, all this carbon dioxide warms the planet.
These levels have accelerated during your lifetime, but don't take it personally: this fact applies to everyone alive today. But do you know what else can happen in your life?
