The environmental performance assessment report focuses primarily on Slovakia's progress in key aspects of green economy transformation, waste management and biodiversity preservation in the context of climate change. The head of the Taraba environmental department appreciated the professional level of the OECD experts, despite the fact that the evaluation is critical of Slovakia's progress over the past period. "The OECD has confirmed what I have been saying since the first day in office. And the fact that environmental protection is not actually carried out. What is being done is merely writing laws. The OECD assessment is sad, but full of facts about the incompetence of the previous leadership. We should prioritize the elimination of landfills, the support of industrial transformation and the sewerage of municipalities. If I were writing this report myself, I would have written the same thing," Taraba underlined.
In Paris, Taraba praised the OECD's approach to evaluating environmental policy
