The TransformAr project aims to demonstrate solutions and pathways that are considered essential for climate and social resilience in order to achieve rapid and far-reaching transformative adaptation (TA). “The impacts of climate change are here and now. The impacts on people, prosperity and the planet are already pervasive but unevenly distributed.” This is stated in the new concept for a new, more ambitious EU strategy for adaptation to climate change (European Commission, 2019). The 1.5°C assessment report (IPCC, 2018) shows that even in the best case scenario of sustained emission reductions, there will be major pressures on agri-food systems, infrastructure, ecosystems and human health.
