Cities participating in the European Commission's initiative called Covenant of Mayors, can now rely on updated guidance to help them develop mitigation, adaptation and energy poverty plans to address the impact of a changing climate.
Cities and local governments are key players in the fight against climate change. Since 2008, the Covenant of Mayors has supported more than 11,000 cities and local governments in Europe in developing and implementing sustainable energy and climate action plans (SECAP).
This complex update It takes into account the latest policy developments, improves guidance on risk and vulnerability assessment, and introduces new methodologies for assessing energy poverty – a growing urban problem.
