The LIFE programme has launched calls for proposals for 2025 (EUR 600 million of EU funding is available). Areas of intervention include: 

• Climate management and information (LIFE-2025-SAP-CLIMA-GOV)
  • Developing geographically explicit inventories for the LULUCF sector, establishing carbon removal registries and certification schemes, and organizing capacity-building activities and advisory services.
• Adaptation to climate change (LIFE-2025-SAP-CLIMA-CCA)
  • Adaptation solutions for agriculture and forestry.
• Mitigation of climate change (LIFE-2025-SAP-CLIMA-CCM)
  • Developing and implementing land and coastal management practices that impact carbon emissions and removals, including protecting and enhancing natural carbon sinks in soils and forests and storing carbon in long-lasting products;
  • Industrial solutions for carbon removal, capture and utilization and/or storage.
