💳 At one of Europe's largest climate events, ChangeNOW 2025, France took a significant step towards building a stronger and more credible carbon market. On April 24, 2025, the French Minister for Ecological Transition, Biodiversity, Forests, the Sea and Fisheries, Agnès Pannier-Runacher, presented a new Charter for the use of carbon credits in line with the Paris Agreement and with high integrity.
This launch represents an important step forward since the launch of the Paris Agreement in 2015.
The meeting also brought together some of the most influential voices on climate action, such as Simon Stiell, Executive Secretary of the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change (UNFCCC), and Dr. Osama Faqeeha, Deputy Minister of Environment of Saudi Arabia and President of COP16 under the UN Convention to Combat Desertification.
