Ecodesign Regulation: new sustainability obligations for manufacturers

The Ecodesign Regulation (hereinafter referred to as the "Regulation") entered into force on 18 July 2024. It establishes a framework for setting ecodesign requirements for specific groups of products in order to improve the sustainability of these products. In this blog, we describe what these requirements are (or may be), when and to whom they will apply. We have already written this blog about the legislative proposal of the European Commission.
