The world's oceans are warmer than ever

The world's oceans experienced the warmest 12 months since data collection began. Every single day from June 2023 to May 2024 produced higher average temperatures than previous years. Global warming, whose record surface temperatures were released yesterday, will not stop at the world's oceans. The seas have been warmer in the past twelve months than at any time since records began, every single day of those twelve months, and by a wide margin. This follows from the data and report of the European Climate Change Service Copernicus (C3S). (KNOWLEDGE NEWS, more at mdr.de)
