TECH Startup develops process powered by sunlight and seawater to remove CO2 from air: "[It] could actually be energy positive"

A Seattle-based startup called Banyu Carbon developed technology , which can remove carbon dioxide from the air using sunlight and seawater, potentially helping to mitigate the overheating of our planet, Bloomberg reported .

While other methods of carbon removal already exist, their key problem is that they require large amounts of energy – either taxing already limited sources of clean energy or requiring additional carbon pollution to be used to use them. On the other hand, Banyu's method is considered low-energy and low-cost. (
