The global crises we face today highlight the importance of full and accurate reporting by independent media at all levels to guarantee citizens' right to information. Climate change may be a global phenomenon, but its effects are primarily felt by our communities, locally and regionally. Wildfires are destroying regional nature reserves, rainstorms are flooding the streets of our cities, and rising sea levels are threatening coastal communities. The local impact of climate change must be reported in the press."
