Only 20 % companies worldwide are meeting their carbon reduction targets and many recognize the need for 'complete transformation', says ENGIE Impact report

PRNewswire/ –  ENGIE Impact today announced the release of its zero report for 2024 . The report identifies common roadblocks to decarbonization and explores some troubling findings including the tendency of many organizations to approach the decarbonization as a limited, narrow initiative instead of the transformational enterprise-wide approach that is required. Based on surveys of more than 500 senior executives from the world's major organizations, this fourth installment of the annual report provides a year-over-year analysis of the progress companies are making in their decarbonisation efforts – identifying trends that are both encouraging and worrying. .The share of companies that rate their sustainability programs as "extremely" or "significantly" successful has increased significantly from a total of 28 % in 2020 to 68 % today. In addition, half of the companies (52 %) are already making major changes to their business model to achieve long-term decarbonisation commitments.
