This year's United Nations (UN) conference on climate change – The “Conference of the Parties” or “COP” – will bring together global leaders, top government officials and negotiators to reach agreements on how to address some of the urgent challenges of climate change. Parties, including governments that have signed the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change (UNFCCC), the Kyoto Protocol and/or the Paris Agreement, will cooperate with each other and agree on further measures to address this existential threat. The COP is usually attended by representatives of civil society, the private sector, international organizations and the media. This year's COP, called COP28, will be held from November 30 to December 12 in Dubai, United Arab Emirates (UAE).(Tosin Omoniyi).
