The latest Lancet Countdown report on the health effects of climate change provides a shocking new observation of the global situation for the most vulnerable countries, but increasingly also for the most advantaged. As nations prepare to debate for the first time at COP 28 the health impacts of climate change and the measures that need to be taken to limit them, 114 experts from 52 research institutions and health agencies released a landmark report to the UN on the topic this Tuesday, November 14 in a medical journal The Lancet. Their research reveals that heat-related deaths among people over the age of 65 increased by 85 % between 2013 and 20.
