The climate crisis is probably the biggest global challenge we face today, with far-reaching consequences for our planet's ecosystems, economies and societies. As world leaders grapple with the urgency of climate action, the role of space technology and data is becoming increasingly critical. Access to actionable information is fundamental to combating climate change, supporting and implementing knowledge-based policies and initiatives, and ensuring balance with sustainable economic development and societal benefits. ESA and the Commission's Directorate-General for Climate Action ( CLIMA ) therefore seize the opportunity to use their combined expertise and resources to achieve transformative change, not least in the context of the EU Copernicus space program and the ESA Space for a Green space programme.
