Consequences of climate change

Heat waves, lack of rainfall, resulting drought and the associated difficulties for agriculture. Or on the contrary, floods often accompanied by water spillage, tropical cyclones and the disappearance of glaciers are some extreme phenomena, but now common. And they represent just some of the impacts of climate change that have affected and are affecting Italy in recent months and that will increasingly intensify in the future. On the other hand, this applies to Italy, as well as to most European countries, which are increasingly under the pressure of the consequences of global warming. And if the impacts are primarily physical or natural, they have strong economic and social consequences. For example, the prolonged drought that hit France and Spain this year forced the French authorities to review rationing policies and bottled water producers to reduce production, while the lack of rainfall has put the agri-food sector under pressure in the Iberian Peninsula, for which the government has tried to adopt measures with aid worth more than billions.
