Climate change is becoming a security issue

"The entire human economy, the entire human society, and therefore all human security, is embedded in nature. We are all a subset of a larger planet, not the other way around." So says Andrew Zolli, Chief Impact Officer at Planet, a space and AI organization that uses satellites to observe the Earth — and the changes humans are making to it. “Today, in a world where we face unprecedented pressure on nature, global ecocide, and a changing climate, things that happen in the natural world can have a profound impact on our daily lives. “That comes in the form of weather shocks that drive changes in the amount of crops we grow, which allows us to feed everyone,” adds Zolli, who is a member of the World Economic Forum’s Global Future Council on the Future of Nature and Security.
