Singapore has announced a set of criteria for International Carbon Credits (ICCs) to ensure that they are of high quality and can be used by companies to offset their taxable emissions. The Ministry of Sustainability and Environment (MSE) and the National Environment Agency (NEA) have jointly established the eligibility criteria under the ICC framework. The criteria are aligned with Article 6 of the Paris Agreement, allowing Singapore to work with other countries to support their climate goals. They are also aligned with international standards such as the Carbon Offsetting and Reduction Scheme for International Aviation (CORSIA). The high-quality International Carbon Credits will complement Singapore’s emissions reduction efforts towards net zero emissions by 2050. (Jennifer L)
