If the increase in the average global temperature exceeds +3°C, 91% of the thousands of ski areas on the old continent will likely experience low snowfall.  The danger, which can only be partially offset by the expansion of snowmaking, is announced in a study. This is a large-scale work presented by a group of French and Austrian climatologists in Nature Climate Change : studied the evolution of the average annual snow cover at almost all European ski resorts – counted between December and February, the heart of the ski season. – under several global warming scenarios.
