Renewable hydrogen energy and the EU strategy

If the EU wants to achieve climate neutrality, the goal it set in the European Green Deal will require it to transform the way it produces energy and fully integrate energy systems. The transition to a green economy must go hand in hand with clean, affordable and secure energy for businesses and consumers. Energy production and consumption account for 75% of greenhouse gas emissions in the EU (2018 figures). And we import 58% of our energy, mainly oil and natural gas. In July 2020, the European Commission presented a hydrogen strategy to accelerate the development of clean hydrogen and its use as a major source of clean energy.
