This week in the European Parliament was not the best for the protection of bees and pollinators. Lawwhich was supposed to help farmers replace dangerous pesticides, which should have prioritized non-chemical pest control instead of toxic sprays did not passIt was initially so weakened that all the good things fell out of it, and when we wanted to return it to the committee for discussion, unfortunately the "pesticide" majority canceled it as such. However, one failure cannot stop us. We can't just give up. There's too much at stake. Our future. In Slovakia, I meet beekeepers, conservationists, but I also know volunteers who are dedicated to their protection and monitoring the populations of butterflies and other pollinators. Their the numbers are getting worse every year. Right now thanks to your support I can advocate for greater protection for bees and pollinators. I will continue to appeal to the European Commission and Member States, including Slovakia, to support important and major changes, but also to support all active people who want to get involved in pollinator protection.
Thank you for caring about bees and pollinators. I will do everything I can to ensure that farmers have affordable alternatives to dangerous pesticides and that bees and pollinators are protected from them, and we are with them.
Thank you and have a nice day 🐝
Martin Hojsík, your MEP
