The long-awaited UN climate summit,  COP28 , is behind us. It comes a year after  COP27 , hosted by Sharm El-Sheikh, and two years after COP26 in Glasgow. This year's edition, which will be held in  Dubai  in the United Arab Emirates, is returning to the Middle East after COP 18 in Doha, Qatar in 2012. The choice of the Emirates as host country immediately raised some doubts, given that they are among the world's top 10 oil and gas exporters. However, there are those who see this choice as a way to further involve the countries most responsible for emissions in the fight against climate change. More than 200 countries were invited to COP28, although leaders of many countries, such as  The United States, China and India have not yet confirmed their participation. The summit, which will take place from November 30 to December 12, will also bring together environmental NGOs, think tanks and businesses to help reassess and reorient the climate agenda, starting, as with previous COPs, from the goals set out in the 2015 Paris Agreement (COP21).
