Climate change activists hope this summer's extreme weather will be a wake-up call for state lawmakers

Climate change groups are urging two measures that they say would help mitigate extreme weather - like the one we are experiencing this summer - in the future. In addition to record-breaking heat waves across much of the world, here in the Northeast, excessive rainfall and subsequent flooding killed one New Yorker. This was followed by days of warnings of unhealthy air due to toxic smoke from Canadian wildfires. All the bad weather follows a recently concluded legislative session, which saw little action on climate change in recent weeks. (Karen DeWitt)
