A new strategy that examines the link between health care and climate change – a first for the Australian federal government – is now available to the public. Citing a recent report by the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change, which projects global warming of 1.5°C above pre-industrial levels by 2030, the consultation paper warns that "climate hazards and their impacts on health and ecosystems will inevitably increase".
