The Ministry plans that the forestry sector will offset carbon emissions

Jakarta (ANTARA) - The Ministry of Environment and Forestry plans for the forestry sector to offset the carbon emissions produced by the energy sector to achieve a net reduction of 140 million tons of carbon dioxide equivalent by 2030. The Ministry's Director of Change Control Climate Director General, Laksmi Dhewanthi, said that power sector emissions are still projected to rise to meet domestic energy demand. "Indonesia is still well below average middle-income countries in terms of per capita energy consumption," it noted in a statement on Tuesday. (Translation: Sugiharto P, Fadhli Ruhman
