How games can simulate climate change

Games for Change CEO Susanna Pollack joined Dreamscape Global founder Sheridan Tatsuno to talk about how games can simulate climate change at the GamesBeat Summit. Tatsuno has a pretty impressive and relevant resume. He’s a writer, an urban planner. He’s been heavily involved in the tech scene. He’s been working on worldbuilding cities with a focus on climate action for half a decade. He’s been touching on the impacts of climate change for decades. For Tatsuno, gaming as an industry is almost irrelevant. The games industry is pretty tiny compared to the spaces he works in. “Games are a big industry, but they’re peanuts. It’s only, what, a couple hundred billion dollars?” Tatsuno began. “Take AEC; Architecture, Engineering, and Construction. It’s the largest industry in the world. It’s 10 % of global trade. About eleven trillion dollars a year.”  (Erron Kelly)
