The aviation industry wants to reach net zero – but not anytime soon

The technology and economics of aircraft manufacturing make decarbonization incredibly difficult. Lying is dirty business. Aircraft account for more than 2.1 trillion tons of annual global fossil fuel emissions, many times the contribution of commercial aviation to global GDP.
