The change in toll rates will affect all categories of vehicles. In addition to the existing three components of the toll: the fee for the use of road traffic, the fee for traffic noise and the fee for air pollution (according to the EURO standard), a fourth component will be newly introduced, the fee for CO2 emissions. In accordance with European legislation, five CO2 emission classes will be introduced. The fees are the highest in emission class CO2 1, on the other hand, emission class CO2 5 is intended for vehicles with emission-free operation. Vehicles with a date of first registration before July 1, 2019 and all vehicles of categories M2 and M3 (buses) will be classified in CO2 emission class 1 and are not entitled to be classified in a higher CO2 emission class (2 to 5, with lower fees). Their operators do not have to take any steps, the inclusion will take place automatically.

" Carriers who operate vehicles with a date of first registration after July 1, 2019, are advised to check the vehicle documentation from the manufacturer and then verify with the help of the search engine on the page www.mytocz.eu/co2 whether they are not entitled to re-registration to a higher CO2 emission class with a lower toll rate ," pointed out Petr Chvátal, CEO of CzechToll.
