New Commission data shows that use and recognition of the EU Ecolabel is on the rise

On the occasion of World Eco-Label Day, the European Commission publishes new statistics , which show that EU Ecolabel – the official voluntary eco-label of the European Union – is booming in numbers, with almost 90,000 certified goods and services available on the EU market across 25 different product groups. . The iconic EU Ecolabel flower is front and centre on a variety of goods and services – and the list is growing. Take tourist accommodation, the leading product group for licences awarded: 76 new EU Ecolabel licences have been awarded in the last 6 months (an increase of 15 %), bringing the total number of EU Ecolabelled tourist accommodation establishments to 620!  Looking at other product categories, you can find the EU Ecolabel on over 35,000 paints and varnishes, 20,000 paper products, almost 12,000 cleaning products, over 9,000 textiles, over 2,000 furniture products, 750 beauty products and 200 interior cleaning services.
