Eionet Portal  The European Environmental Information and Monitoring Network (Eionet) is a partner network of the European Environment Agency (EEA) and its 38 member and cooperating countries. The EEA and Eionet collect and develop data, knowledge and advice for environmental policy makers in Europe. In total, the Eionet network consists of the EEA and around 400 national institutions from 38 countries with environmental expertise and eight Thematic Expert Centers contracted by the EEA, called European Topic Centers (ETCs). The EEA is responsible for the development of the Eionet network and the coordination of its activities together with the National Contact Points (NCPs) in individual countries. NFPs are institutions in individual countries that are intended to be the main link between the EEA and the country in question. NFPs facilitate and coordinate networks of national experts involved in national activities related to the EEA work programme.
