The aim of the Green Credit Program is to stimulate voluntary environmental action by stakeholders, private industry and others to generate or purchase Green Credits (GC) to meet their obligations under legal frameworks." At the COP26 meeting held in Glasgow, United Kingdom , the delicate term LiFE (Lifestyle for the Environment) was introduced as a "one-word" movement to combat climate change. The recently drafted Green Credit Program Implementation Rules, 2023 (Rules) published by the Ministry of Environment, Forests and Climate Change provide more comprehensiveness. LiFE is "a grassroots, mass movement to combat climate change, to improve environmental measures to promote a healthy and sustainable way of life based on the traditions and values of conservation and moderation, and on sustainable and ecological development".
