Global carbon dioxide emissions from the energy sector hit a record high last year, in defiance of Paris commitments, a key study warned on Monday (June 26), highlighting the "worst ever" impacts of climate change. The UK-based global industry body, the Energy Institute, has released the main findings of its statistical overview of the world energy industry, conducted by consulting firms Kearney and KPMG.
