Human-induced climate change is one of the greatest challenges we face today, but uncertainty about the exact extent of global change hinders effective policy responses. A significant source of uncertainty concerns future changes in water vapor in the stratosphere, the extremely dry region of the atmosphere 15–50 km above the Earth's surface.
