Countries are starting to take reducing avoidable methane emissions from fossil fuel production more seriously as a rapidly warming planet forces leaders to double down on solutions that can keep scorching temperatures at bay for decades. Last month, Bloomberg Green reported that U.S. officials were discussing with their Turkmen counterparts ways to help the Central Asian country curb some of the world’s worst methane emissions, which come from its aging oil and gas operations.
