The Norwegian authority is investigating the Northern Lights CCS project

The Norwegian Petroleum Safety Authority (PSA) has completed an audit of the joint venture behind the Northern Lights carbon capture and storage (CCS) project and some of its components. PSA conducted an audit of the joint venture on March 27 and 28 Northern Lights and monitoring pipelines and subsea facilities in connection with the same project. According to the Norwegian authority, the aim was to ensure that Northern Lights and technical service provider Equinor fulfilled their operational obligations, monitored their activities and managed in accordance with regulatory requirements and their own HSE requirements. It was reported that the audit did not find any non-conformities or improvements.
