If you're looking for help reducing your carbon footprint, there's now an app that can help. Zerofy is a European carbon tracking app that can help you track your personal emissions, save on your energy bills, learn more about your footprint, and more.
What is Zerofy?
Zerofy's functionality is like a cross between a personal fitness tracker and a smart home app. You enter a few details about your lifestyle, diet, and location; you can then create small goals to reduce your carbon footprint.

Zerofy can integrate with some US-based energy companies to track your home's carbon emissions, and it can connect to some smart appliances and other devices to track your energy output.
According to the app's creators, Zerofy focuses on helping people directly reduce emissions by offering small-scale and large-scale alternative energy options instead of selling carbon offsets.

How does Zerofy work?
Zerofy collects a few details about your lifestyle to determine where and how you can reduce your carbon footprint. When you sign up for the app, it asks you about your carbon emissions goals, what country, state, and zip code you live in, your home type, your electricity type, and whether your home has solar panels. Zerofy then asks a few questions about your diet, as beef consumption is one of the biggest sources of greenhouse gas emissions. The app then asks about your transportation methods, and once you’ve entered all of this information, you’re ready to track your emissions. Under the “Add Emissions” tab, you can enter your meals, connect a smart meter to automatically track them, and add any purchases you make. If you enable location tracking, Zerofy will automatically track your transportation methods and calculate your emissions. Under the “Actions” tab, Zerofy provides small and large adjustments to your lifestyle, from turning down your thermostat by one degree, reducing your dryer usage, switching your washing machine to eco mode, installing rooftop solar panels, or switching to an electric vehicle. Zerofy also has a small shopping section that offers products that can help you reduce your carbon emissions. Some of these products can connect to the Zerofy app to help track your carbon footprint.
